Anil David, Founder

Anil David is an accomplished entrepreneur, serving as the Founder and Business Development Director of Agape Connecting People Pte. Ltd. He is responsible for establishing the men and women’s contact centres in Changi Prison, offering impactful reskilling and employment opportunities for prison inmates. In April 2021, Anil spearheaded the opening of Agape Training and Job Placement Centre, in partnership with Barclays, which provides critical reskilling and job opportunities for the vulnerable communities, including ex-offenders, single mothers, the physically challenged, and low-income residents. With over two decades of sales experience across various industries, Anil is the driving force behind Agape’s growth and brand recognition. 

Amrita Sharma, Executive Director

With over 20 years of experience, Amrita Sharma is a results-oriented leader, adept at building and managing high-performing teams across multiple locations. She has been able to establish robust systems, leveraging analytics to make strategic decisions, contributing towards organisational goals. Passionate about driving positive change, Amrita specializes in Team Building, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Planning, Analytics, Budgeting, and ROI tracking. She actively contributes to international groups, focusing on critical issues like Poverty and Inequality, Child Rights, Gender Rights, and Humanitarian Crises, showcasing her commitment to impactful contributions in the non-profit sector.

Eric Chua, Patron

Mr. Eric Chua is Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development, as well as Culture, Community and Youth. He was previously a Lifesaver in the Singapore Civil Defence Force for 17 years before being elected to Parliament in July 2020. Before joining politics, Mr. Chua spent a good part of his time volunteering in the community. Over the span of his professional and volunteering journey, he discovered his passion for working with and empowering people. Having come from a humble family background, Mr. Chua advocates strongly for social mobility and is a strong believer of the power of mentoring.

Christine Ng, Chairwoman

Christine Ng is Chairperson of BBH Singapore and CEO of BBH China and Publicis Worldwide Shanghai. She joined BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty Ltd) in 1996 and was the founding member of the Agency’s first Asia office in Singapore. Some of the blue-chip brands and companies she had worked on include Johnnie Walker, Coca Cola, Samsung, Unilever, Huawei, Ikea, Perfetti Van Melle, Singapore Tourism Board, Audi, InBev, UOB, Singtel, Lilith Games and OPPO. An inspirational figure, she was featured in the Role Model not Runway Model in the Shanghai Fashion Show. And she is the only Singaporean to be featured on a Chinese stamp in recognition of her and BBH China’s contributions to exporting Chinese creativity to the world. 

Sangita Devi, Board Member

Sangita Devi founded Agape Connecting People along with Anil David and continues to play a pivotal role in running the social enterprise. She is the heart of Agape Connecting People.  Around 70% of the staff are women, so Gita makes an effort to spend time with them and mentor them.  

Michele Lemmens, Board Member

Michele Lemmens is the APAC Head of Business Sustainability and CTO at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the world’s largest purpose-led information technology services and consulting companies. She has spent her career shaping and bringing to life new initiatives, businesses and programs that need clarity of purpose and diverse thinking to deliver meaningful outcomes. One of her career highlights was setting up a women-only business centre in Saudi Arabia. She has successfully designed, built and delivered new initiatives, across multiple geographies, often led by strategies focused on new market entry, M&A, JVs, start-ups and strategic alliances across multiple partners to realise collective value. Michele is a champion of positive change and blends this commitment and energy with her volunteering, advising, advocacy on Sustainability and innovation, contributions to accelerators and also academic institutions. She is also on the board of a sustainable foods company in NZ. She is passionate about harnessing her diverse experience for more purposeful impact.

Alexander Harrison, Board Member

The Country CEO for Barclays in Singapore has held several leadership roles at the bank in his two decades of working with them. He also holds additional responsibilities as the COO, Asia Pacific and Head of Corporate Banking for the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. 

Gilbert Tan, Board Member

A prominent figure in Singapore, His leadership and contributions have helped shape and improve the financial and employment landscape of the country, making a lasting impact on individuals and organizations alike. He has held several high-profile positions including as the CEO of e2i. 

Bhart Sheri, Board Treasurer

Bhart Sheri has been a practitioner in the financial industry for almost 30 years. He graduated from NUS with a BBA degree in 1991, and received his MAS license in 1994. Believing in life-long learning, he went on to attain further accreditations from FPAS (attaining his AFP and AWP) and IBF (receiving his IBFQ after attaining multiple certifications). His experience includes not just working in some of the biggest stockbroking, investment houses and banks, but also serving as a town councillor at PR-PG TC, in the Investment & Finance Committee. The expertise gained allows him to guide laypersons, professionals, as well as companies. Some examples include advising bereaved family members on managing Estate matters, guiding start-ups to become well established SMEs, and consulting corporations for listing processes on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. In addition to his professional engagements, Bhart has been passionate about social work as it is his personal belief to build an inclusive Singapore. He has been supporting ex-offenders for more than 20 years to re-integrate into society.
